Experiencing a new culture can be absolutely life changing. For Dr. Sattam Halaseh, who was recruited by Amideast for a scholarship from the Kennedy-Lugar Youth Exchange and Study (YES) Program in 2008, participating in cultural exchange impacted his entire life trajectory.
In early April, the YES Consortium held its second global Virtual Alumni Leaders Training (VALT) for more than 50 alumni of the Kennedy-Lugar Youth Exchange and Study (YES) program! VALT provided an opportunity for this select group of former exchange students, now back in their home countries, to further develop their leadership and communication skills, as well as network with their fellow alumni.

The Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA) at the US Department of State supports a huge number of international students and visitors to and from the US every year, and Amideast is proud to help administer several of those programs in the MENA region. Amideast is especially proud that some of the students and alumni from those programs have been featured in a the ECA podcast 22.33!
