Project Hope

PROGRAM OBJECTIVES

Amideast will develop and conduct a training program designed to enable 15 candidates with disabilities to successfully pass Amazon's hiring bar to be eligible for working in selected roles at Amazon.

The training will focus on three areas:

Skills for Success Employability Program

Skills for Success program consists of two main components:
Part 1:  Personal and professional skills such as communication skills, interpersonal skills, critical thinking, problem-solving, and teamwork that provides participants with business-related technology skills. Skills for Success® provides youth with increased personal awareness, improved English language proficiency, workplace skills valued by employers, job search strategies and resources, and a community-impact experience.

Digital Marketing Training Program

Amideast, in partnership with Forward MENA, launched the Digital Marketing Training program.

The program was delivered under the Skilling Up Lebanon Project, a one-year project funded by the World Bank, to increase the access to market-relevant digital skills for the youth residing in Lebanon. This program aimed to support 60 young people in upskilling their digital marketing capabilities and helping them obtain market-relevant digital skills for in-demand jobs.

Skills for Success® - U.S. Consulate General Alexandria

Amideast is pleased to announce the Skills for Success® program for unemployed Egyptian university/institute graduates. The program is administered by Amideast and sponsored by the U.S. Consulate in Alexandria. The program will prepare unemployed youth for the workforce through the provision of training in the areas of business English, computer skills, integrated skills for the workplace, and career building and planning.

The program duration is two months

Skills for Success® - Citi Foundation

Amideast Skills for Success® program is sponsored by Citi Foundation for unemployed Egyptian university/institute graduates. The program prepares unemployed youth for the workforce through the provision of training in the areas of business English, computer skills, integrated skills for the workplace, and career building and planning. To-date, more than 200 youth have finished the program and found job opportunities in Delta.

Participants benefit from 275 hours of training over a 10-month period, divided into three phases.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING FOR EMPLOYABILITY PROGRAM

The new program is funded by Morocco’s Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC), a bilateral foreign aid agency of the U.S. government. Partners in the project include MCA Morocco (the Moroccan arm of the MCC), Morocco’s Ministry of Employment and Vocational Training, and ANAPEC (National Agency for Promotion of Employment and Skills).

Amideast/Morocco’s goal is to help job candidates improve their employment prospects through training and match them to jobs, while assisting private sector companies and organizations in meeting their hiring needs in 2020.
