Skills for Success® - Citi Foundation

The Amideast Skills for Success® University Graduate program aims to assist in overcoming unemployment by equipping youth with the necessary tools needed for employment and future success.

Amideast Skills for Success® program is sponsored by Citi Foundation for unemployed Egyptian university/institute graduates. The program prepares unemployed youth for the workforce through the provision of training in the areas of business English, computer skills, integrated skills for the workplace, and career building and planning. To-date, more than 200 youth have finished the program and found job opportunities in Delta.

Participants benefit from 275 hours of training over a 10-month period, divided into three phases.

Phase 1: Personal & Professional Skills

In this phase, participants grow critical personal and professional skills relevant to most careers, divided per the following:

  • 150 hours of English language communication for the workplace
  • 40 hours of computer and IT skills
  • 35 hours of workplace readiness skills and building an entrepreneurial mindset
  • 10 hours of personal development and decision-making

Phase 2: Specialization

Based on participants' qualifications and goals, they are trained in employability skills.

For the employability track, participants will practice their skills in an internship and receive 40 hours of training on job search skills to pursue entry-level jobs.

Phase 3: Pay-It-Forward

To share what they have learned with others and maximize the impact of the program on the community, participants from both tracks will be prepared to deliver self-development sessions to youth in their communities.
