"STEM for Sustainability" Youth Program Launches in Morocco

March 2023 - Sixty young men and women, ages 18–25, will participate in the STEM for Sustainability Youth Program beginning in April. The training will provide immersion in activities that develop skills in STEM fields as well as the integration of problem-based learning. The program will also raise their awareness of career opportunities in the STEM fields through classroom presentations as well as field trips to sites where environmental challenges are addressed through STEM-based solutions.

Celebrating the First Graduates of the Pathway to Promise Program

The PCELT was developed by Amideast in partnership with World Learning/SIT Graduate Institute to provide English teachers in the MENA region with an internationally recognized certification program. PCELT's emphasis on practices that create a learner-centered, interactive classroom has already translated into an improved learning experience for tens of thousands of students in the region.

New University Disability Centers in Egypt

Cairo, Egypt — The 15 public universities are Tanta, Zagazig, Helwan, Suez Canal, Beni Sueif, South Valley, Fayoum, Sohag, Damanhour, Damietta, Suez, Sadat, Arish, New Valley and Luxor.

The MOU was signed on June 25 at a ceremony attended by the presidents of the 15 universities, representatives of Amideast, USAID, and the MOHESR, and guests from universities, the disability rights community, NGOs, and the private sector.
