"STEM for Sustainability" Youth Program Launches in Morocco

Sixty young men and women, ages 18–25, will participate in the STEM for Sustainability Youth Program beginning in April. The training will provide immersion in activities that develop skills in STEM fields as well as the integration of problem-based learning. The program will also raise their awareness of career opportunities in the STEM fields through classroom presentations as well as field trips to sites where environmental challenges are addressed through STEM-based solutions.

Amideast, Boeing Launch STEM Competition in Egypt

This new competition builds on the strategic partnership that Amideast/Egypt and Boeing have created to align science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education with the sustainability priorities of Egypt and other countries in the MENA region.

“In 2022, Boeing and Amideast announced the intention to support Egypt by investing in the growing young population of the country. The entrepreneurship competition is an integral part of this journey”, said Kuljit Ghata-Aura, Boeing president in the Middle East, Türkiye and Africa.

Amideast, Boeing Launch New STEM Initiatives in the UAE

The STEM Ambassadors program is focused on learning and development in sustainability and Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) in aerospace engineering. The program targets students aged 14-18 years old from select schools in the UAE. The first group of 25 students has just successfully completed the program, now they are well prepared to pursue STEM subjects at the leading universities. On February 17, 2023, Amideast/ UAE and Boeing will start the program for another group of 25 future STEM Ambassadors.

Cairo, Egypt—Launched on November 30, 2021, the STEM Center, established with generous funding from Boeing, offers diverse programs that are designed to raise student awareness of the STEM fields (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics), and equip them with knowledge and skills that will help them better respond to the changing needs of the global economy and contribute to Egypt’s economic development through innovative ideas that create impact.

Celebrating the First Graduates of the Pathway to Promise Program

The PCELT was developed by Amideast in partnership with World Learning/SIT Graduate Institute to provide English teachers in the MENA region with an internationally recognized certification program. PCELT's emphasis on practices that create a learner-centered, interactive classroom has already translated into an improved learning experience for tens of thousands of students in the region.
