The PCELT was developed by Amideast in partnership with World Learning/SIT Graduate Institute to provide English teachers in the MENA region with an internationally recognized certification program. Cairo, Egypt — The 15 public universities are Tanta, Zagazig, Helwan, Suez Canal, Beni Sueif, South Valley, Fayoum, Sohag, Damanhour, Damietta, Suez, Sadat, Arish, New Valley and Luxor.
The MOU was signed on June 25 at a ceremony attended by the presidents of the 15 universities, representatives of Amideast, USAID, and the MOHESR, and guests from universities, the disability rights community, NGOs, and the private sector.
Kuwait, Kuwait City — Up to 80 participants, the overwhelming majority of them women, will receive professional and workforce skills training designed to improve their professional skills, enhance their current job performance, and increase their ability to reach new career goals. With a focus on the public sector, training will be conducted for employees and faculty at the Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research (KISR) and the Public Authority for Applied Education and Training (PAAET).
This spring, our Jordan office is pleased to be hosting 30 students onsite, including undergraduates enrolled in our regular semester program as well as teenagers participating in the U.S. Department of State’s National Strategic Language Initiative for Youth (NSLI-Y) and the Youth Exchange and Study (YES) Program. Customized program sponsors are also heading back to the region in the coming months. This summer and fall, we’re expecting students on the ground in all our current program sites: Morocco, Tunisia, Jordan, and the UAE.
