Schmidt Futures, Rhodes Trust, and Amideast Recognize 100 Promising Youth as 2023 Rise Global Winners

Schmidt Futures, in collaboration with the Rhodes Trust and Amideast, announced the 2023 cohort of Rise Global Winners and launched a new application cycle for the 2023-2024 Rise Challenge. Rise is a program that finds promising young people, aged 15-17, and provides them with opportunities that allow them to work together to serve others over their lifetimes.

New Country Director for the Amideast/Iraq Office

Mr. Kochuba, who assumed his position on May 8, 2023, brings to Amideast over 20 years of experience as a career diplomat managing public affairs and developing strategic communications, outreach activities, and engagement programs for several U.S. embassies in the MENA region, including in Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Tunisia, Morocco, and Kuwait. During these assignments, he worked with Amideast offices and other local partners to launch and to support educational, cultural, and exchange programs and partnerships for youth and young professionals.
