Advancing Amideast’s work in Jordan

Amideast President and CEO Ambassador (ret) Greta C. Holtz kicked off the year with a dynamic and impactful visit to Jordan, UAE, and Morocco. She joined Amideast Jordan leadership in engaging in high‑level events, renewing partnerships, and making meaningful connections with the people at the heart of Amideast’s mission.

During her visit, Ambassador Holtz met with senior Jordanian government officials to review ongoing collaboration and discuss opportunities to expand cooperation in support of Jordan’s national development priorities.

In a meeting with His Excellency Dr. Raed Al‑Adwan, Minister of Youth, the discussions reviewed ongoing initiatives supporting Jordanian youth, including programs such as English for Job Seekers, Careers in Aviation Program with a focus on skills enhancement.

With His Excellency Dr. Saeb Al‑Khreisat, Minister of Agriculture, discussed ways to enhance cooperation through capacity building, skills development and targeted training programs that aligns with the ministry’s strategic long-term plan. 

Ambassador Holtz also met with His Excellency Dr. Azmi Al‑Mahafzah, Minister of Education and Minister of Higher Education, to discuss collaboration on language development programs and teacher training initiatives that support students and educators across the country.

These engagements reflect a shared commitment to investing in human capital, strengthening institutions, and expanding access to education and skills development across Jordan.

Extending partnerships

Ambassador Holtz signed a new memorandum of understanding with the Hashemite Commission for Disabled Soldiers for the "Veterans Entrepreneurship Program." The agreement strengthens ongoing cooperation between Amideast and the Jordanian military veterans organization. This continued cooperation reinforces our shared commitment to supporting veterans with access to tailored upskilling, ecosystem partnerships, and coaching to turn their ideas into successful ventures. Together we will develop programs and services for our injured Jordanian military partners.

Some of the other key meetings included key partners from the Jordan Armed Forces and the Higher Council for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, JOHUD The Jordanian National Commission for Women, and a visit to the Jordanian National Forum for Women (JNFW) Facility Center in Zarqa.

Equally as important, the Ambassador spent time with Amideast program participants, students and alumni. The gathering offered a meaningful opportunity to listen, connect, and reflect on personal journeys, programs, and experiences, and to hear firsthand how our programs have helped shape lives and opened doors to new opportunities.
