THE PROGRAM

 

 

This 75-hour program aims to provide participants with the English language skills necessary to progress forward in everyday contexts. It also aims to reshape participants’ perspectives on how journalism is perceived in Palestinian society and elevate it to an international level. Participants will be familiarized with international journalism's fundamental values and practices while working on their content-based skills.

Teach to Lead Program

Teach to Lead will support Egypt’s current comprehensive educational reform process. Training will be provided to teachers from Greater Cairo, encompassing Cairo, Giza, and Qalyoubia governorates, in groups of 12-15 each at Amideast’s state-of-the-art training facility in Giza, which is fully equipped with classrooms and computer labs.

Amideast will build on its expertise in teacher training and leadership to develop a dynamic, 60-hour training program, which will emphasize the following elements:

Tawtheef Program

Curriculum Structure

Amideast’s Tawtheef modules are clustered into five core areas. Each skill area consists of four to seven training modules. Each training module includes one to four training activities. Additionally, there are 2 orientation modules that must be completed before starting any of the modules in these five skill areas.

Office Equipment (Copier/Printer/Scanner/Phone System/Laminating Machine); Troubleshooting; Cloud Applications; MS Office and Typing; Outlook, Hangouts, and Skype; and Networking Basics.

Fulbright Foreign Language Teaching Assistant Program - FLTA

The Fulbright Foreign Language Teaching Assistant (FLTA) Program is sponsored by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA). As part of the Fulbright Foreign Student Program, the Fulbright FLTA Program is designed to develop Americans’ knowledge of foreign cultures and languages by supporting teaching assistantships in over 30 languages at hundreds of U.S. institutions of higher education.

Professional Fellows Program (PFP)

PFP is designed to promote mutual understanding, enhance leadership and professional skills, and build lasting, sustainable partnerships between mid-level emerging leaders committed to strengthening their communities through social entrepreneurship and workforce development. PFP is a fully funded 6-week program including 1 week of intensive training, a 4-week fellowship at an organization in Washington D.C. or Austin, TX, and a Professional Fellows Congress in Washington, D.C.

Teaching Excellence and Achievement (TEA) Program

The 2018-2019 program marks the 22nd year of the Teaching Excellence and Achievement Program (formerly the Teaching Excellence Awards program) and the first year the program will be known as the Fulbright Teaching Excellence and Achievement Program.  Teachers from 61 countries will participate in this six-week program.  Cohort I starts late January 2019 and Cohort II starts mid-September 2019.
