English Access Scholarship (Access) Program

The English Access Scholarship (Access) Program provides a foundation of English language skills to talented 13-15 year-olds through after-school classes and intensive sessions. The program will be implemented in Amman, Naur, and Aqaba, and aims to equip participants with English skills that may lead to better jobs and educational prospects. Participants also gain the ability to compete for and participate in future exchanges and study in the United States.

THE PROGRAM

Students participate in around 280 hours of English language instruction and 80 hours of extracurricular activities, including additional workshops that introduce the youth to American culture, community issues, service learning, and career enhancement resources. The English language curriculum strengthens speaking, writing, listening, and reading skills. Additional activities may include guest speakers, relevant cultural field trips within Jordan (such as films, exhibitions and concerts), and visits to different organizations for enriching workshops.
