Amideast’S English for General Communication program develops your ability to communicate confidently and effectively in everyday situations. As the most popular type of English language training Amideast offers, these courses help tens of thousands of adult English learners yearly develop the spoken and written skills commonly needed today for work, study, and leisure.

Our English language courses are aligned to the internationally recognized Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) and cover six proficiency stages, from beginning to advanced.

Fees and Discounts

  • Tuition fee: $205 early registration; $215 late registration. Due to current market liquidity and exchange rate issues, tuition fees are paid in local currency based on an intermediate rate set between the official and daily market rates.
  • Early registration discounts range from $10-$40.
  • Tuition fees include the cost of instruction and use of Amideast’s library and Computer Assisted Language Learning Laboratory. Amideast uses electronic books for many of its courses, which students are able to access on their own devices.
  • Placement Test: $10. For same-day results, add $10. The placement test fee may be paid in local currency based on the Central Bank’s official exchange rate.

Registration and Placement Exams

We are currently offering English Language classes in Aden.
 
New and returning students may register for classes daily, Sunday through Thursday, from 8:30 AM to 5 PM.
 
New students must take an oral and written placement test. Placement tests are offered daily, Sunday through Thursday, at 8:30 and 10:30 AM. Please bring your ID or passport when you come for the registration test.

Our English Language Centers

Aden

Amideast's center in Aden was established in May 1998 to provide English language and short-term professional training to corporate clients, government employees, scholarship recipients, and private citizens. Amideast Aden has grown rapidly since its inception and now trains over six hundred students during each of its seven-week sessions

Sanaa

Amideast Sanaa conducts customized EL training courses by prior arrangement for sponsored clients, and scholarship recipients. Amideast Sanaa focuses on delivering high-quality English language to meet the needs of its trainees. Amideast Sanaa also offers Training of Trainers sessions for educational institutions in Yemen’s northern governorates. Please inquire for more information.

English After School Program (EASP)

The EASP program, which is funded by the U.S. Department of State, provides 100 underserved students in Yemen with free, two-year English language scholarships at the Amideast center in Aden.

AMAL@Amideast Program

Funded by the Yemen Affairs Unit’s Public Affairs Section, AMAL@Amideast provides up to one year of online English language training for a total of 390 contact hours for twenty female participants with basic knowledge of English. It represents Amideast Yemen’s first, fully-online EL training program.
