GRE General Test

The GRE General Test Is generally offered online at test centers around the world. 

The online GRE General Test is split into six sections: Two 30 minute Analytical Writing sections, including one task each; two 30 minute Verbal Reasoning sections, including 20 questions each; two 35 minute Quantitative Reasoning sections, including 20 questions each; and an unidentified section that does not count towards the overall test score, OR an identified research section that does not count towards the overall test score. The total testing time is about three hours and 45 minutes, with a 10 minute break following the third section.

GRE Subject Tests are available on paper only. The tests take 2 hours and 50 minutes. There are no separately-timed sections. Test format differs depending on the test subject. A list of available subject tests is available on the ETS website.
