Social Innovation Abroad

This program has a front-loaded, 15 contact-hour crash course in Tunisian Arabic, together with Amideast Education Abroad's Community-Based Learning (CBL) course, a 45 contact-hour course about contemporary Tunisia that helps students contextualize their worksite experiences.

Intensive Arabic

There are two 4-week sessions, so students can choose to spend one or two months living and studying abroad.
 
All students take a blended Modern Standard Arabic & Colloquial Arabic course, for a total of 6 credits per session. There are 100 hours of Arabic language instruction per session, covering material usually presented in one semester on a US campus.
 
Classes meet five hours per day, five days per week.

Regional Studies in French

Academic Overview

  • Arabic: Blended Modern Standard & Colloquial Moroccan (8 credits) is optional
  • Colloquial Moroccan Arabic (3 credits) is required if not in the 8-credit course
  • Elective Area Studies Courses (3 credits each) taught in French in a variety of disciplines including a Community-Based Learning course.
