STEM for Sustainability Competition

Sponsored by Boeing, Amideast’s STEM for Sustainability Competition empowers entrepreneurs across Egypt by inviting them to showcase their innovative solutions to global and community challenges. The competition finalists will take part in a bootcamp training. The training will help them fine tune their ideas, enhance their business model, develop their powerful business plans, and design winning pitch decks. The top three winners will also receive monetary seed funding for their innovative business ideas.

Program objectives

  1. 1- Offer an opportunity for young Egyptian entrepreneurs to showcase their innovative and sustainable business ideas that are designed by STEM principals to address community and global challenges.

  1. 2- Provide seed funding for winners to support their startups. 

  2.  

  1. 3- Raise awareness and encourage youth to develop innovations using the STEM approach that provides sustainable solutions for a better World.

  1. 4- Shed light on winners’ innovations for potential sponsors, business partners, and mentors who are in the STEM, sustainability, and entrepreneurship eco-system. 

 

Eligibility Criteria

  1. 1- Teams of 2 to 3 Egyptian members, aged between 21 and 35 years old, with an innovative business idea in the fields of STEM. 

  2.  

  1. 2- Startup aligns with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), mainly tackling the WEF nexus. 

  2.  

  1. 3- Years in business: 1+ 

  2.  

  1. 4- Teams previously applied or nominated but were not selected as winners are eligible to apply.  

  2.  

  3. 5- Startup located in Egypt.  

  4.  

  1. 6- English language (preferred).
