Mental Health and Resilience Initiative

THE PROGRAM

The Mental Health and Resilience Initiative, funded by the U.S. Office of Palestinian Affairs, is a 45-hour training that targets students between 14 – 17 years old, who are interested in improving their psychological and mental well-being and are interested in drama, arts, culture, and/or sports activities. This training will equip participants with effective life skills and knowledge through techniques that will help them learn how to represent their inner experiences and develop an awareness of self needs.

YES PROGRAM FOR WEST BANK

ABOUT THE PROGRAM 

The Kennedy-Lugar Youth Exchange and Study (YES) program provides scholarships for high school students to study for one academic year in the United States. YES students live with a host family, attend an American high school, acquire leadership skills, and engage in activities to learn about U.S. society and values; they also help educate Americans about their home country and culture. The program supports students with disabilities and encourages their participation.

Leadership & Teacher Development (LTD)

Implemented in partnership with USAID and the Palestinian Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MoEHE), the Leadership and Teacher Development (LTD) Program was guided by the MoEHE’s priority to invest in Palestinian schools and improve classroom instruction. By 2018, it had introduced innovative approaches to school leadership and professional development that significantly improved learning among 150,000 students in grades five through 10 in 454 schools across the West Bank.

Tawjihi Equivalency

The Tawjihi equivalency requirements.

Amideast is the SAT/CLEP/AP Tawjihi equivalency service provider / auditor for the Palestinian Ministry of Education and preferred service provider in providing information on U.S. education and the accreditation status of particular institutions.

This procedure is subject to change depending on new regulations and / or amendments set by the Palestinian Ministry of Higher Education

Fulbright Foreign Student Program

ABOUT THE PROGRAM

The Palestinian Affairs Unit of the U.S. Embassy is pleased to announce the opening of the Fulbright Foreign Student Program competition for 2021-2022. The Fulbright Program enables Palestinian students to pursue graduate-level study in the United States of America. Participants also have the unique opportunity to experience life in the United States and share Palestinian unique culture and traditions with Americans.

Hope Fund - Rising Senior

The Hope Fund program enables underserved Palestinian youth, many from refugee backgrounds, to benefit from an undergraduate education in the United States. The program provides grants (financial assistance) to promising, academically qualified but financially challenged students from the West Bank and Jerusalem, to assist them in competing more successfully for scholarships to pursue their undergraduate studies in the United States.
