Competitive College Club (CCC)

To ensure that the best and the brightest students in Aden have a chance to attend a U.S. university, Amideast is pleased to announce an EducationUSA Competitive College Club (CCC) open to grade 12 students in Aden.
Competitive College Club (CCC)

THE PROGRAM

The EducationUSA Competitive College Club (CCC) in Yemen is an intensive group advising program that assists top high school students who want to be competitive applicants to U.S. colleges and universities. CCC students meet year-round at Amideast/Aden and participate in monthly workshops, specialized sessions, presentations, book clubs, community service activities, and cross-cultural exercises, all conducted in English and designed to build their resumes and portfolios. CCC student activities ensure that students are able to prepare themselves both academically and socially for a U.S. college or university. CCC activities also help students identify higher education institutions that meet their needs.

The CCC is not a scholarship. CCC students are encouraged to apply for scholarships through the universities they select and will be advised on how to do so successfully. Admission to the CCC does not guarantee admission into US universities. The CCC is an assistance tool; the full responsibility of admission falls on the student`s choice of the university applied to, the budget and strategy for financial aid, as well as the student’s profile.

WHO CAN JOIN THE CCC?

The cohort is open to high school students in Aden in their 3rd year of high school who want to apply for undergraduate studies at accredited U.S. institutions.

WHAT DOES THE CCC DO?

The club holds two meetings per month with the EducationUSA advisor that includes unique presentations, club projects, and workshops. U.S. universities seek students who are not only the top of their classes academically, but are also actively engaged within their communities, whether through sports, clubs, the arts, or community service that supports their communities. All CCC students are required to attend all CCC club meetings, two times a month for four hours.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?

The CCC is free.
