The Yemeni Women’s Entrepreneurship Program (YWEP)

The Yemeni Women’s Entrepreneurship Program (YWEP) seeks to support Yemeni women in their entrepreneurial projects. Through capacity-building activities at Amideast/ Yemen, women attain the necessary skills to launch and expand their own projects while achieving national economic and social goals of empowering Yemeni women.

The program provides specialized training programs to include workshops focusing on the entrepreneurship environment, feasibility studies, persuasion skills, presenting ideas, and others. At the end of the program, each participant presents a plan to be evaluated by the project’s panel and up to five women will be selected to receive funds for their plans.

Project Outcomes

YWEP participants will have the increased skills needed to establish their own businesses. They will have a career and business networking opportunities, and they will engage with microfinance to start or grow their micro-enterprises.

YWEP is funded by the U.S. Department of State – Yemen Unit.
