Supporting Government-Sponsored Academic Success
The TOEFL iBT® test supports governments and public institutions in identifying and preparing scholarship recipients and sponsored students for success in English-medium academic environments.
For government-sponsored programs, the TOEFL iBT provides a secure and policy-ready assessment framework. Robust score-integrity policies and state-of-the-art security measures help ensure fairness, comparability, and confidence in selection decisions.
By using the TOEFL iBT, governments can strengthen the effectiveness of their scholarship and graduation programs while ensuring that sponsored students are prepared to succeed academically, professionally, and globally.
In January 2026, ETS introduced the new TOEFL iBT that offers a more personalized, efficient, and accessible testing experience. The Reading and Listening sections adjust in real time to reflect your individual ability.
Your scores will be available in your ETS account 3 days after your test date. The new score reporting scale is clearer and more globally aligned, with a new 1 to 6 banded score aligned with the CEFR. The traditional 0–120 scale will also be shown making results easier to understand and compare.
