Our Work

Learning for Practitioners

OVERVIEW

Learning for Practitioners (LfP) is a series of short term programs developed specifically for faculty, administrators, and staff at US educational institutions, members of professional institutions, and Amideast alumni. Each program is developed with a specific theme in mind, with an overall goal of introducing participants to the wide range of opportunities in our host countries, as well as familiarizing them with the local culture and host cities.

ELIGIBILITY

We welcome applications from:

About Amideast Community College Scholars Fund

Financial obstacles are the greatest barrier to studying abroad that U.S. college students face. Community college students, who at any one time constitute more than 40% of U.S. undergraduates, generally constitute no more than 2% of those studying abroad, and fewer U.S. study abroad students travel to the Middle East and North Africa than to any other region of the world.

American University in Dubai Direct Enroll - Summer

American University in Dubai (AUD)

Students on this program will have the opportunity to directly enroll at AUD to participate in one or two summer sessions, which are each 7 weeks long. With ABET, AACSB, NAAB and numerous other accreditations, AUD's many schools and departments allow students from a wide variety of academic majors to engage their disciplines with professors and peers from around the world in a MENA region context. The American University in Dubai is patterned on the American model of higher education and classes are taught in English.

Long-Term English Program

Applicants of all English skill levels are invited to apply to the Fulbright Program. As most American graduate degree programs require a minimum score of 80 on the iBT TOEFL exam for admission, applicants who are nominated to the Fulbright Program tend to possess strong English proficiency. However, otherwise qualified Fulbright nominees in need of enhanced English language training may be invited to participate in a Long-Term English (LTE) program. If you participate in an LTE program, you will live on a U.S. university campus and take part in an intensive English language program.
