ABOUT THE PROGRAM

The Fulbright Program is the U.S. government's flagship international educational and cultural exchange program, creating connections in a complex and changing world. Led by the U.S. government in partnership with 160 countries worldwide, Fulbright builds lasting connections between the people of the United States and the people of other countries around the world, building mutual understanding between nations, advancing knowledge across communities, and improving lives around the world.

APPLICANT REQUIREMENTS

This program is for students who are about to graduate, recent graduates, and professionals from diverse social, economic, academic, and professional backgrounds. A competitive applicant should have an excellent academic record, strong English language skills, and the commitment to return to the United Arab Emirates upon completion of the program. Preference will be given to applicants who have not previously studied in the United States.

All recipients of a Fulbright scholarship must return to their home country or location for at least two years upon completion or termination of the scholarship.

APPLICANTS MUST

  • Be a U.A.E. national.

  • Reside in country throughout the application, selection, and placement process.

  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.

  • Possess a strong academic background.

  • Be proficient in English and/or able to attend a Long Term English (LTE) program prior to the start of the study program.

  • Be interested in learning about American history and society, as well as sharing knowledge of Emirati culture.

  • This program is open to all fields of study except medicine, nursing, and other clinical fields in which hands-on contact with patients is required.

  • Must be eligible for J-1 Exchange Visitor Visa (No US passport holders or green card holders may apply).

  • Applications that demonstrate benefit to Emirati society will be given preference.

U.S. citizens or green card holders are not eligible to apply.

  • Answer all questions accurately.

  • Upload the following documents with your online application:

  1. CV or resume (2 pages).

  2. Personal statement (~600 words).

  3. Academic statement (~600 words).

  4. Official university transcript.

  5. Three letters of recommendation.

  6. Copy of bachelor's degree.

  7. Copy of U.A.E. Passport or ID.

IF NOMINATED, CANDIDATES WILL ALSO NEED TO SUBMIT

  • Exam scores:

  1.  iBT TOEFL® (a recommended score of 81+) or IELTS score.

  2. If required by a U.S. university: GRE® revised General Test for graduate school admissions.
