
Mr. James T. Grabowski serves as Amideast's Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. In this capacity, he is responsible overseeing and optimizing Amideast’s day-to-day operations and for leading technology-driven efficiency, growth, and profitability. He devises strategies for Amideast’s growth and success and turns them into actionable plans and initiatives. Central to this responsibility remains the need to boost organizational resilience, knowledge sharing, and value creation by ensuring that appropriate staffing and resources are in place for the growth of proprietary fee-for-service programs and of donor, corporate, and foundation-funded projects that address institutional and human resource development requirements throughout the Middle East and North Africa region.
Prior to his current U.S.-based position, Mr. Grabowski worked in Yemen for 5 years and in Egypt for 19 years, where he held a number of senior management positions on USAID-funded development assistance projects in the areas of educational reform and the administration of justice/rule of law; he also served as Country Director of the Amideast/Egypt field office. He possesses an advanced level of proficiency in Arabic.
Mr, Grabowski received a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and Education from Le Moyne College and a Master of Science in Broadcast Journalism/Television, Radio, and Film from Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications. He also completed an Executive Education Certification Program for Nonprofit Professionals at the Columbia Business School.
