Skills for the Future (ages 16-18)

This course develops the English language skills of teenagers through practice of academic English reading and writing skills, as well as through grammar, vocabulary, and test preparation exercises. Students explore contemporary topics within an interactive virtual classroom that provides many opportunities to practice real-world communication for academic settings. Outside of the virtual classroom, students are expected to complete assignments that extend in-class learning, participate in online discussions, collaborate on writing tasks, and do online research related to their academic goals with the guidance of the teacher.

In this course, students receive 25 hours of teacher-led instruction

Amideast Online classes require a desktop, laptop or mobile device combined with a WIFI or minimum 3G network connection. Recommended browsers include:

  • Desktop/Laptop: Chrome, Firefox, or Edge (latest versions)
  • Mobile iOS (12.2+): Safari Mobile
  • Mobile Android (6.0+): Chrome Mobile

Course times and days will be confirmed once a pre-registration form is completed and submitted, per the below published schedule. A free online placement test will then be administered. All class materials, including online resources, are provided to students. Class size is limited to a maximum of 16 students.
