Authentication & Certification

Amideast/Jordan is the preferred service provider of the Ministry of Higher Education in providing information on U.S. education and the accreditation status of institutions. The Jordan office serves hundreds of Jordanian return students in authenticating their degrees and certifying institutional accreditation/legitimacy.

Amideast/Amman offers authentication and accreditation services of American degrees obtained from accredited schools in the US and/or from American universities recognized by the US Council of Higher Education.

Arab Women’s Entrepreneurship Program (AWEP)

The Arab Women’s Entrepreneurship Project (AWEP) is a Citi Foundation-funded initiative, implemented by Amideast in Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Morocco, and the UAE. In each country 20 women will compete to be selected to participate in the program and receive:

15 Days of training on business skills, conducted in Arabic, on topics that include:

  • What makes a successful entrepreneur

  • How to register a business in Jordan

  • How to fund a new business or business growth

  • How to assess risk and feasibility

HOPE FUND SCHOLARSHIP

ABOUT THE HOPE FUND

For nearly two decades, the Hope Fund has provided higher educational opportunities in the United States for exceptional Palestinian students living in the West Bank, Gaza, Lebanon, and Jordan, particularly refugees and others from disadvantaged circumstances. More than 100 Palestinian men and women have been selected based on their leadership potential, character, and strong academic qualifications, as well as limited financial resources that pose an obstacle to their pursuit of a higher education.

DIANA KAMAL SCHOLARSHIP SEARCH FUND (DKSSF)

About the DKSSF

Amideast’s own Diana Kamal Scholarship Search Fund (DKSSF) makes the dream of study in the United States possible for highly qualified Arab students from underserved populations in the Middle East and North Africa. Through this initiative, Amideast is able to identify students of exceptional accomplishment and promise who wish to pursue undergraduate study at an American college or university, but cannot afford to do so.

YES PROGRAM FOR JORDAN

The Kennedy-Lugar Youth Exchange and Study (YES) program provides scholarships for high school students to study for one academic year in the United States. YES students live with a host family, attend an American high school, acquire leadership skills, and engage in activities to learn about U.S. society and values; they also help educate Americans about their home country and culture. The program supports students with disabilities and encourages their participation.

English Access Microscholarship (Access) Program

THE PROGRAM

Students participate in around 300 hours of English language instruction and 60 hours of extracurricular activities, including additional workshops that introduce the youth to American culture, community issues, service learning, and career enhancement resources. The English language curriculum strengthens speaking, writing, listening, and reading skills. Additional activities may include guest speakers, relevant cultural field trips within Jordan (such as films, exhibitions and concerts), and visits to different organizations for enriching workshops.
