Special Announcement
AMIDEAST established one of its first field offices in Baghdad, Iraq in 1953. Until its closure in 1967, in the wake of heightened regional tensions, the Baghdad office played a vital role in strengthening mutual understanding and cooperation between Americans and Iraqis and in promoting U.S. higher education. Our offices reopened in 2004.
