Position Summary:

The English Language Administrative Assistant supports the Director of the English Language Department on a variety of levels described below.  The EL Administrative Assistant will be responsible for the efficient functioning of English Language classes and activities during weekend and evening hours when students are in the Tunis and LAC buildings.

 

Tunisia’s field office in Tunis and branch office in Sousse offer educational information and testing services to students and professionals, as well as scholarship and exchange program administration services to a variety of sponsors, and provides professional development services including management, English language and test preparation training services to individual and corporate clients and government agencies.  

 

Responsibilities:

This role is part-time, requiring 20 hours per week as follows:

  • Saturday - 11:15 am  – 7:15 pm  (Tunis Belvedere)
  • Sunday  - 9:00 am - 3:30 pm  (Tunis Belvedere)
  • Wednesday  - 5:30-9:00 (Tunis Lac II)
  • Friday  - 5:30-9:00 (Tunis Lac II)

EL Program Support:

  • Check classrooms on a regular basis to ensure they are in good working order prior to classes
  • Report all major facilities issues immediately to the HR Department
  • Supervise safety and security, ensuring that all appropriate precautions are in place and alerting the HR Department to any potential problems in safety and security systems (personnel, physical systems, or other) or their performance
  • Provide information and assistance to parents / students about English Language programs and other AMIDEAST services during weekend and evening hours.
  • Ensure smooth entry /exit of all students to/from the building
  • Act as a point of contact for teachers during working hours, providing assistance with facilities, photocopying, or other admin support as necessary
  • Distributes notices from EL Dept. to all Young Learner classes on Wednesday, Friday, and weekends.
  • Reports to EL Director any anomalies in teacher punctuality and/ or client concerns.

 

 

 

 

Qualifications:

 

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent 1-2 years of relevant work experience in a public-facing role (customer service, etc.)
  • Tunisian nationality with fluency in Arabic and French, basic English proficiency preferable
  • Demonstrated capacity to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Demonstrated ability to stay calm under pressure and maintain a professional and courteous demeanor at all times
  • Highly organized, with demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy
  • Discretion and professionalism regarding all AMIDEAST proprietary services and activities
