Skills for Success®: Employability Skills for Women is a program supported by the Flemish Department of Foreign Affairs, the Royal Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, PepsiCo and the Secretariat of the Union for Mediterranean (UfM). This program aims to provide employability skills training to young women in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) who are unemployed secondary-school graduates. The goal is to support a combined total of 450 young women and girls from Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, and Tunisia by helping them develop concrete tools and knowledge needed to access local labor markets.

In Lebanon, the program is endorsed by the Secretariat of the Union for Mediterranean (UfM), PepsiCo, and the AMIDEAST/Lebanon Advisory Board. During the first project phase of its implementation, 90 qualified participants will be selected. Upon selection, the young women will take part in a four-month training program which will include 320 hours of extensive English language training as well as workshops on computer, professional, and job search skills.

To be considered for the Skills for Success® Program, women applicants must:

  • Be between 18 and 35 years old
  • Hold a secondary-school, technical school, or university diploma
  • Be currently unemployed and actively looking for a job
  • Be able to commit fully to the intensive program
