Program Summary

Between 2007 and 2010, the Cisco Internship Program provided young Lebanese specialists in Information Technology (IT) opportunities for developing practical skills while gaining real on-the-job work experience to better position them for professional careers. Participants interned at CISCO Systems, Inc., in the United States or Lebanon, or with private sector companies in Lebanon. Co-sponsored by the Partnership for Lebanon, the programs aimed to help young Lebanese IT professionals participate in the development of their country by using their newfound knowledge and skills to enable Lebanon to compete in the global marketplace and sustain economic growth.

Project Results

  • Since 2007, 100 young professionals have completed internships in Lebanon and the United States.

  • More than 90 percent of Cisco interns have found jobs in Lebanon or have returned to school following their internships.

  • Three out of 10 interns have been women, helping women make a difference in Lebanon’s high tech future.
