    This Exchange Day 2021, we are excited to join in the celebration of the power of international exchange — in all its forms.

    Meet Our 2017 DKSSF Scholars

    The 11 women and seven men come from six countries — Egypt, Lebanon, Syria, Tunisia, Yemen, and, for the first time, Libya. The support of Amideast’s educational advising staff that is offered all DKSSF students was critical to their successful applications.

    Academic excellence is a prerequisite to joining the program, as DKSSF candidates must be able to stand out in the highly competitive college application process if they are to succeed in winning the scholarships they need in order to realize their college ambitions.

    Ahmed Rezk Ahmed

    Egypt

    Ahmed Rezk Ahmed is a smart and talented young man who has never let his challenges define him or hold him back. Losing his father when he was three years old, and raised along with six siblings by his mother in a one-bedroom house in Sohag, he learned the value of hard work, education, passion, and helping others.

    Soad Abu El Hassan Mohamed

    Egypt

    Soad Abu El Hassan Mohamed has two passions — biotechnology and educating others. Her belief in the power of education began early, while her love of biotechnology is relatively new; she began her first year of university last year as part of the competitive U.S.-Egypt Higher Education Initiative Public University Scholarships program.

    Mehad Abd El Kreem Mohamed

    Egypt

    Mehad Abd El Kreem Mohamed is a strong and happy young woman who faces challenges with confidence and determination — traits that have already led her to multiple successes in her 18 years. Most recently, Mehad has been selected to join the competitive U.S.-Egypt Higher Education Initiative Public University Scholarships program.
