It measures written and listening comprehension skills in English, from beginner to advanced levels, in a professional context. It determines non-native English speakers' ability to communicate in English in the workplace. The TOEIC Listening and Reading tests cover CEFR levels A1 to C1.
The TOEIC Listening and Reading test Multi-stage adaptive version is a one-hour multiple-choice test that consists of 90 questions divided into two sections.
The TOEIC® Listening & Reading test provides two section scores (5–495 each) and a total score ranging from 10 to 990.

Listening section: The Listening section tests how well test takers understand spoken English. It consists of two Units and contains a total of 45 questions. Test takers are asked to answer questions based on a variety of statements, questions, conversations, and talks recorded in English.
Total time: approximately 25 minutes.
Reading section: The Reading section tests how well test takers understand written English. Test takers will read a variety of materials and respond at their own pace to 45 questions based on the content of the materials provided.
Total time: approximately 37 minutes; Unit One is approximately 23 minutes and Unit Two is approximately 14 minutes.
