Position Description:

The English Access Micro scholarship Program Teacher Coordinator is responsible for selecting training, mentoring and monitoring the Access program teachers. The Access Teacher Coordinator works closely with the teachers and students to ensure the quality of program deliverables. The position entails travelling to program sites in Upper Egypt and Delta. 

The English Access Microscholarship Program provides a foundation of English language skills to talented 14- to 16 year-olds from disadvantaged populations in Egypt through after-school classes and intensive summer learning activities.  The program also gives participants the opportunity to gain an appreciation for American culture and democratic values, increases their ability to participate successfully in the socio-economic development of their countries, and improve their chances of participating in U.S. educational and exchange programs. The program promotes tolerance and the acceptance of cultural differences.

Currently, more than 500 students are enrolled in the program in ten different cities in Upper Egypt and Delta. 

Job Duties:


·         Select, train, mentor  and monitor the Access program teachers in the assigned locations;

·         Set program instructional plan and follow up its implementation with teachers;

·         Manage program curriculum;

·         Monitor and mentor teachers on quarterly class visits;

·         Provide teachers with verbal and written feedback;

·         Select program text books and supplementary material;

·         Support planning and implementation of extracurricular activities;

·         Support program candidates recruitment activities including  screening, interviews, and selection;

·         Support setting program calendar in coordination with the Program Admin person;

·         Monitor students’ progress and handle special cases;

·         Handle students’ complaints;

·         Liaison with the US Embassy when needed;

·         Support planning and implantation of program launch and graduation ceremonies;

·         Attend meetings in Cairo or implantation sites when needed;

·         Report to Education Manager.



Job Qualification

-          A university degree in English language teaching,

-          Teacher training certificate is a plus

-          5 – 7 years teaching experience (preferably to young learners)

-          3 – 5 years in teacher training experience

-          Experience with the Access program is preferable

-          Ready to travel ( 10 – 15 days every quarter)

-          Team player

-          Good command of computer skills  (word, PowerPoint and Excel)

-          Familiar with the local Education context in governorates


Note: the candidate will oversee the program in the following governorates:

South: Minia, Luxor, Qena, Kom Ombo, Qos, Esna, Edfu, Hurghada

North: Damietta, Port Said, and Damanhour and Sinai: Arish (remotely and based on security situation)
