 Advising Services

AMIDEAST/Yemen provides accurate, comprehensive, current, and unbiased information on educational opportunities in the United States. We are part of the EducationUSA network of approximately 450 advising centers worldwide affiliated with the U.S. Department of State's Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, maintaining EducationUSA ethical standards.

We have an extensive collection of materials on U.S.-accredited educational opportunities available for public use.  Advising services are offered to anyone interested in U.S. study as well as accredited U.S. institutions and U.S. graduates returning to Yemen.

 Weekly Advising Sessions - Saturdays at 3PM

Our educational advisor, based in the Yemeni capital of Sanaa, provides a weekly FREE general advising session from 3PM to 4PM on Saturdays along with other various topic-oriented information sessions. A basic center membership is free after attendance at the general advising session. Additionally, the EducationUSA Center provides educational and career information services, including

 US Study Resources

Our main center in Sanaa houses a rich, multimedia advising library complete with information from U.S. colleges and universities in printed, video or CD-ROM format for on-site use and consultation. Other educational resources include Peterson's and other leading college and university guides, periodicals (newspapers and magazines), AMIDEAST-designed topical handouts, materials on distance learning, scholarship notice board, test preparation materials, and a variety of videos about study and life in the U.S. In Aden, a branch of the EducationUSA advising library holding basic references is available to students.

Library Collections

The EducationUSA Center at AMIDEAST Sana'a maintains an extensive collection of materials on U.S. and regional educational opportunities including books, software, college and university catalogs, brochures on professional training opportunities, audiovisual materials, and more.
