The Master’s Scholarship Program (MSP), funded by USAID, aims to build the capacity of key Palestinian sectors by providing 20 Palestinian university graduates with access to master’s-level educational opportunities in the US beginning in the 2014–2015 academic year. Selected participants will study in the following fields: water treatment, agribusiness, industrial production and operations management, public administration, teaching English as a foreign language, construction management and youth development. Upon completion of their master’s programs, participants will bring back technical knowledge and skills that will contribute to the development of the Palestinian economy, as well as new perspectives and ideas that will enhance their development as leaders and increase their understanding of the United States. In addition, MSP will continue to support participants through follow-on activities in the West Bank and Gaza that will enrich their academic experience and contribute to community development such as internships, research opportunities, and community service events. As lead implementer of MSP, World Learning works in close collaboration with in-country partner AMIDEAST.
