Course Overview

Developed by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), LEED provides building owners and operators a concise framework for identifying and implementing practical and measurable green building design, construction, operations and maintenance solutions. For professionals who support green building design, construction, and operations, the LEED Green Associate credential denotes basic knowledge of green building principles and practices and LEED. This course provides introductory information about green buildings and LEED and prepares participants to take the LEED Green Associate exam.

Course Objectives

This course will be an introduction to the concepts of sustainable, high performance green buildings, as well as methods for designing, constucting and evaluating them. The course will provide key preparatory information about the needed tools and technical expertise for taking the LEED Green Associate exam.

As the Green Associate is the first of the three tiers in the Green Building Certification Institute's (GBCI's) professional credential ladder, both experienced and novice green building industry professionals are eligible to attend.
