Center of Excellence for Applied Research and Training (CERT)

CERT, the Center of Excellence for Applied Research and Training (CERT) of the Higher Colleges of Technology is part of a 13-college network operated by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in the United Arab Emirates. CERT is the continuing education and applied research arm of a system servicing more than 10,000 students throughout the UAE with more than 40 programs in engineering, technology, and business.

CERT operates two Technology Parks in Abu Dhabi and Dubai, fostering a number of joint-venture businesses and training operations through more than 20 strategic alliances with multinational technology providers like Lucent Technologies, Honeywell, and GEC Marconi. These Technology Parks were established to foster the application of the latest technology in the UAE and to help develop the infrastructure necessary to support this technology. Their presence helps to put multinational firms to work for the economic and human development of the UAE by encouraging these companies to develop educational as well as business goals and to provide a total solutions orientation to their core business activities through training, products, and consultancy services for improving the application and assimilation of technology in the region.

CERT’s partnership with AMIDEAST allows both organizations to enlist resources in research, technology support, and training to achieve human resource development.
