Fulbright Scholarship Program 2013 - 2014

 

 

UAE nationals are invited to apply for a Fulbright Scholarship for graduate study in the USA. Funding will be granted for up to two years of study in a master’s program.

Scholarships are awarded to applicants who demonstrate academic excellence, strong English language skills, leadership qualities, and a commitment to improving cross-cultural relations through international exchange. Applicants must also express a desire to use skills gained in the US to serve the UAE upon completion of their studies.

Application requirements:

  • ITP TOEFL score of 553 for master’s programs  & 590 for doctoral programs
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university (for master’s program candidates)
  • Both bachelor’s and master’s degrees from accredited universities (for doctoral candidates)
  • Eligibility for J-1 Exchange Visitor Visa (No US passport holders or green card holders may apply)

Supporting Documents (must be submitted with the application before the deadline):

  • Copies of Undergraduate (Bachelor’s) degree certificate & Graduate (Master’s) degree certificate in English
  • Original final transcripts from Bachelor’s & Master’s degrees in English (sent directly to AMIDEAST from your university)
  • Three letters of recommendation (sent directly to AMIDEAST in a sealed envelope from the recommender)
  • CV or resume, no more than 2 pages long
  • Copy of UAE passport (picture page only)
  • For non-business fields: GRE test score or availability to take the test before October 10th if nominated (recommended score: 500 verbal & 510 quantitative)
  • For business related fields: GMAT test score or availability to take the test before October 10th if nominated (score of at least 600 is recommended)

  • For more information on TOEFL, GRE, or GMAT test dates and locations, contact AMIDEAST
  • Most fields of study are eligible (students of medicine, dentistry, and pharmacy are not eligible)
  • Fields that will be of benefit to UAE society will be given preference
