

Eligible candidates are invited to apply for a two-way citizen exchange program is a capacity-building and professional development initiative conducted by Legacy International. The program serves civil society development in Egypt, Tunisia, Libya and the US and is designed for people with strong leadership skills who are early- to mid-career professionals and who are committed to making a lasting impact in the areas of public service, social development, government transparency, and citizen participation.
Key Facts of about the LFP MENA program: 24 Fellows will be selected from three countries (8 each from Libya, Tunisia, and Egypt) to participate in a month-long, fellowship experience in U.S. Congressional offices, federal agencies, advocacy groups, and grassroots organizations.
Fellowship dates (subject to adjustment):
· Spring delegation: April 11-May 11, 2013
· Fall Delegation: October 17 -November 17 2013
Eligible candidates must be:
· A resident and citizen of Egypt, Libya, or Tunisia
· Between 25 and 35 years of age
· Fluent in English (spoken and written)
· Have 3 or more years of professional or educational experience in one or more of the following area: policy development, legislation, service and/or volunteer work, civil society organizations, community activism, labor relations or law, government administration, elections, voter education, social innovation and activism.
· Preference will be given to candidates who have NOT previously traveled to the U.S. on a government-sponsored exchange program.
