AMIDEAST's mission is to provide high quality American English language instruction to meet the academic, professional or personal needs of anyone who wants to improve their English skills.
Experienced instructors lead classes using the latest textbooks and video and computer laboratory resources.
AMIDEAST provides both public courses to meet the English language needs of diverse clients who wish to improve their English communication skills: business professionals, students, public sector employees, civic leaders, and youth have all benefited from our English training programs.
Students are required to take a placement test, after which they can register in the appropriate course level. Each level is made up of two courses, with each course totaling 45 hours of instruction. Public courses are conducted twice a week for 3 hours per day in the morning or evening. Courses and schedules can also be customized for business employees or other groups.
AMIDEAST offers test preparation courses (TOEFL®, SAT®, GMAT®, GRE®, and TOEIC®). Our test preparatory training program uses modern teaching methods focused on real life communication. AMIDEAST’s teachers integrate listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills. Courses are offered for individuals at our office. We also offer courses at schools for groups of students, and for professionals we offer courses in the work place.
Since 2004, AMIDEAST/Lebanon has been managing the English Access Microscholarship Program in Lebanon -- a program sponsored by the U.S. Department of State to benefit Lebanese youth at public secondary schools in all regions of Lebanon. To date, 2,648 students aged 14-18 have benefited from this two-year scholarship.
Students participate in 400 hours of English language instruction and additional workshops that introduce the youth to American culture, community service, policy issues, and career enhancement resources.
The English language curriculum strengthens English speaking, writing, listening, and reading skills with additional extracurricular activities. Activities may include guest speakers in the class, field trips in Lebanon for cultural activities (such as films, exhibitions and concerts), and visits to different Lebanese and American organizations in Lebanon.
