New teachers should come into the country as a tourist. This allows 3–4 months, depending on nationality, to complete the necessary paper work in order for AMIDEAST to apply for your work permit and then help you apply for a temporary residence visa (carte de séjour) that lasts for a year from the date of issue. If you renew your contract with AMIDEAST for a second year, you will need to renew your carte de séjour. Should your carte de séjour expire before you leave the country, you will have to pay a fine for each month you overstay.

Increasingly English is becoming the “language of the air,” and AMIDEAST trainers are ready to respond as needed to help the region’s aviation sector meet this challenge.
Amideast offers several different options to our airline companies and government aviation agencies to help meet their specific needs. Classic classroom approach using the most recent Aviation English textbooks and authentic audio, as well as a blended learning approach which uses an up to date software program specifically designed for air traffic controllers and pilots, are two of our most popular options.
The English Language Teaching (ELT) Program is AMIDEAST Tunisia's largest, most popular service. Over 900 students currently enroll in each of the 46 hour ELT sessions for adults and university students.
Special ELT sessions for young adults and children are offered at various times of the year. Many tailored courses are also developed and conducted for a growing number of organizations that require special ELT sessions for their employees, including Tunisian Airports Authority, the Merchant Marine, and many other public and private sector groups.
