General Information

AMIDEAST Yemen offers English language training in the capital, Sanaa, and the major port city of Aden. Classes are taught by professionally-trained native and near-native speakers of American English who use communicative teaching methods. Students learn practical English that they can use in real-life situations such as at work or school. AMIDEAST's small classes, customized instruction, and comprehensive learning resources help students improve their English language skills quickly and effectively.

Each course requires seven weeks to complete. Most courses meet two hours a day, five days a week. Class sizes average about fifteen students. A library, conversation club, work-study internships, and tutoring are offered to on-site AMIDEAST students.

The methods used by our certified and experienced teachers emphasize a student centered, communicative approach to language learning, which allow the students to benefit from our courses.

This Program is an online learning environment designed to extend boundaries of the classroom and to remove restrictions on students’ time and place of study. Students will get an ID number and a password on the first day of class, and that will allow them to have access to more than 2000 online resources in different skills; they will also be assigned homework by their teachers.

AMIDEAST/Tunisia has locations in Tunis, as well as a center in Sousse, two short hours to the south.  Tunis is a cosmopolitan, Mediterranean capital city that has grown to a population of three million in the past five years and is known for its pleasant climate, close proximity to numerous historical sites such as legendary Carthage, its attractive mix of Arab and European cultures, and easy access to beautiful beaches and the Sahara Desert.  An added attraction is regular flights to most Arab and European countries.  Sousse, the third largest city in Tunisia, is also a major tourist hub and offers the same attractions for the Sahel region.
