It is a one year comprehensive professional development program for journalism and mass communication graduates in Cairo, Alexandria and Mansoura.
Program Goal
The program aims to enhance the English language and research skills of journalism and mass communication graduates, male and female. The program goal is to equip new journalists with the language and professional skills they need to compete successfully in today’s job market and be effective professionals in Egypt’s fast-changing media environment.

AMIDEAST is pleased to announce the launch of the Skills in English for Engagement and Dialogue (SEED) program. The Skills in English for Engagement and Dialogue is a program of the U.S. Embassy in Cairo’s Public Affairs Office. It is a one year and a half comprehensive professional development program for Moslem and Christian graduates and scholars of religious studies located in Alexandria and Mansoura.
Program Goal
The program aims to enhance the English language and dialogue skills of young Moslem and Christian religious leaders, clergy and scholars, male and female. The program goals are to enable program participants to engage in cross cultural dialogue both locally and on a global level, to increase mutual understanding on cultural levels, and to improve their conflict management skills.

AMIDEAST conducted a five week General English course for employees in the Coorporation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf - Secretariat General (GCCSG) in December 2012. The picture shows three students from the class working collaboratively on their final project.

This course is designed to strengthen the student's test-taking skills so as to enhance his/her scores on the Scholastic Assessment Test (SAT). Students will practice thinking strategies, become thoroughly familiar with the structure of standardized exams, and build verbal competence and mathematics reasoning.
The course is 36 hours in length with 2 target sections:
Students are immersed ina communicative, integrated skills course that sharpens their language skills and test-taking abilities. This course identifies areas needing improvement and addresses the target skills.

PCELT is an internationally recognized TESOL certificate developed by AMIDEAST and World Learning/SIT Graduate Institute to be delivered through AMIDEAST’s network of offices in the MENA. The 120-hour program provides flexible delivery options and adaptable content to address different English language teaching needs and contexts – from public to private, urban to rural, traditional to alternative, resource-rich to resource-poor classrooms.
