Egypt StudyUSA Fairs Refund Policy

If StudyUSA fairs are cancelled by AMIDEAST or for reasons beyond exhibitor control, we will refund all registration fees. AMIDEAST follows U.S. Embassy guidance, which is received on an ongoing basis, or may choose to take a more conservative approach if we believe the quality of the fair may be significantly compromised for any reason. We have not to date needed to cancel any of our fairs.

We generally cannot issue refunds of registration fees to exhibitors who choose to cancel after our July 31 registration deadline.

Egypt StudyUSA Eligibility Policy

University admission officers and/or local alumni representatives from U.S.-based institutions holding CHEA-recognized accreditation as well as institutions based elsewhere but holding recognized U.S. regional accreditation are welcome to participate in StudyUSA fairs.

Unfortunately we are currently unable to accommodate exhibitors from institutions that offer their programs entirely by distance methods as Egypt's Supreme Council on Universities does not recognize the degrees of individuals who complete their degrees via online/distance methods.

We are also typically unable to include exhibitors from institutions that are not U.S.-based and do not hold a U.S. regional accreditation because of the fair's focus on American-model education and, in some cases, because of limited U.S. accreditor oversight for overseas institutions.

English for Global Communication

Soliya’s Connect Program is a unique cross-cultural education program that enables college students from the US, Europe, the Arab World, and the broader Muslim World to collaboratively explore the relationship between their regions with the aim of improving intercultural awareness and understanding. Student participants in this semester’s Connect Program will congregate into groups consisting of eight to ten students each.

This course is conducted partially online. Students will meet once a week for the on-line part (30 Hrs); Soliya will assign them to an online dialogue group, based on their availability. For the face-to-face component (18 Hrs), Students will meet biweekly with their instructor where they work on language skills and functions.

Objectives and Description:

The course aims at bringing real life communication into the classroom.  The face-to-face component gives students the skills, strategies, and confidence they need to communicate confidently in the online discussion specifically and outside the classroom generally.

The course builds learners’ ability to understand and use the natural English of International speakers by focusing on language pragmatics and functions. The on-line as well as the face-to-face component will help students to become more sensitive and effective communicators through universal topics and activities, and with special focus on intercultural competence as “fifth skill”.
