Financial obstacles are the greatest barrier to studying abroad that U.S. college students face. Community college students, who at any one time constitute more than 40% of U.S. undergraduates, generally constitute no more than 2% of those studying abroad, and fewer U.S. study abroad students travel to the Middle East and North Africa than to any other region of the world.
Amideast Education Abroad Virtual Learning and Cultural Exchange Scholarships are available to students in the Virtual Learning and Cultural Exchange Program and are awarded in the form of a tuition reduction, a one-time bank transfer, equal on-site monthly cash payments, or any combination of the three options. Institutional financial aid and/or scholarships may be used for the semester/academic year programs. Federal Financial Aid (Perkins Loans, SSIG Grant Program, Pell Grants, FSEOG Grants, Stafford Loans, SLS Loans, PLUS Loans, and Consolidation Loans) also can generally be used for study abroad programs. Get in touch with your study abroad or financial aid office to determine which awards could help support your time abroad.
Amideast Education Abroad Blog Abroad Scholarships are awarded in the form of a tuition reduction, a one-time bank transfer, equal on-site monthly cash payments, or any combination of the three options. Students on semester programs receive $1,000 and students on summer programs receive $500. Blog Abroad scholarships are awarded only for one term.
Students are eligible to receive both our Need-Based Scholarship and the Blog Abroad scholarship for the same program.
