For professionals who support green building design, construction, and operations, the LEED Green Associate credential denotes basic knowledge of green building principles and practices and LEED. This course provides introductory information about green buildings and LEED and prepares participants to take the LEED Green Associate exam.
This course will be an introduction to the concepts of sustainable, high performance green buildings, as well as methods for designing, constucting and evaluating them. The purpose of Risk Management is to identify potential problems before they occur so that risk-handling activities can be planned and invoked as needed across the life of the project to mitigate adverse impacts on achieving objectives. Attaining the Project Management Professional (PMP) designation has become a benchmark in many industries that employ project managers. Prior to joining AMIDEAST Oman as Training Expert-Senior Consultant in October 2009, Mr. Jabbour worked for the Information Technology Authority (ITA) in Oman as a Senior Business Consultant. As an advisor to ITA’s executive committee, Mr. Jabbour helped develop ITA’s business strategy, which led to the execution of 30 concurrent projects. In addition, Mr. Jabbour offered executive seminars and coaching to the CEO and his team, as well as management seminars for over 80 ITA employees and managers. Mr. Jabbour started his career in software development and system design in 1989. He held senior manager positions at several major IT companies in the United States and Canada. He also developed and offered seminars in the area of leadership, customer relations, and management, initially in North America and later in the GCC. Mr. Jabbour holds an MBA in Marketing from the University of Phoenix in the United States, a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of North Florida in the United States, a Public Speaking certification from Dale Carnegie, NLP Master Practitioner from NLP Colorado, and a Project Management Professional (PMP®) certification from the Project Management Institute.
Jourdan Younis has over 10 years of experience in the fields of sustainable development, finance and cleantech. His MBA from London Business School and Bachelor of Science from Cal Poly are coupled with several years of sustainability consultancy experience (LEED & Estidama). He has launched and developed sustainability departments in both the USA and the UAE. His project portfolio includes commissions ranging from a multi-billion USD financial center development in the UAE to the training of over 1,000 professionals in multiple facets of sustainability and green investments. Mr. Younis is currently the head of sustainability for Oger International - Abu Dhabi and teaches Estidama's Pearl Rating System for the Abu Dhabi Urban Planning Coucil and LEED for the American University of Sharjah and AMIDEAST.
