Why Strategic Trends in Human Resource Management?

In today’s competitive business environment, human resource management (HRM) has shifted from being a business function to a strategic tool as organizations increasingly recognize its contribution to organizational performance. HRM’s role is no longer restricted to serving personnel issues but is now serving strategic company objectives and goals as well. Business leaders are starting to perceive HRM as a unique source of competitive advantage through its direct impact on employee productivity and motivation.

In Lebanon, many companies continue to hold traditional views of HRM and consequently fail to capitalize on its full potential. In response, this seminar develops participants’ understanding about the strategic role that HRM can play in achieving high organizational performance.

AMIDEAST offre un programme de formation qui débutera le 13 Février 2012 pour une durée de 6 mois. Ce programme sera basé sur deux axes principaux : Linguistique et Formation professionnelle.

L’axe linguistique consiste à :
• offrir des cours de perfectionnement de la langue anglaise avec au final la passation d’un examen international pour certifier le niveau en Anglais (Test of English for International Communication, TOEIC). Chaque participant bénéficiera au total de 72 heures de formation en langue Anglaise.
• Offrir des cours de perfectionnement en langue française de 60 heures.

L’axe formation professionnelle sera réparti sur cinq modules, chaque module ayant une durée de 40 heures :

Workshop Overview

Presentations can be challenging – most of the time you will be the only person talking. In a conversation or a meeting you can sometimes take time to think of a question or what you would like to say. In a presentation, on the other hand, every pause can feel like an eternity! It therefore pays to be very well prepared.

This workshop will help you with the language of presentations – how to introduce yourself and the topic, how to describe visuals you may include in your presentation and much more. In addition you will master the various techniques that make up effective presentations, including brainstorming and organizing ideas, tailoring content to an audience, designing powerful visual aids, planning for adequate facilities, and stimulating audience interest.

The Cisco Entrepreneur Institute is a global initiative by Cisco^® and supports entrepreneurs worldwide by working with local governments and business organizations to foster the creation and success of small- and medium-sized businesses. The Institute provides practical business insights for entrepreneurs, facilitates knowledge sharing with local business leaders, and shows participants how to take advantage of technology to speed business growth.

The Institute offers state-of-the-art training, networking, and business resources, and was created to help entrepreneurs improve their skills and enhance business development opportunities. It also provides a forum for owners of small and medium-sized businesses to collaborate and share business expertise.

                                                 

 

The Palestinian Youth Empowerment and Volunteerism Program, funded by the U.S. Consulate General in Jerusalem aims to empower Palestinian youth between the ages of 18-25 by engaging them in leadership roles in proposing, organizing, and implementing youth-led community service and other community initiatives that make a positive impact on their city, governorate, and nation.

 

In order to achieve the program main goal, the Palestinian Youth Empowerment and Volunteerism program will provide youth throughout the West Bank with opportunities to gain leadership and life skills through a training program followed by the opportunity to develop and propose for funding their own community-based, youth-led volunteer initiatives, which the youth themselves will implement if their proposals are selected funding.  

 

By the conclusion of the program’s activities, AMIDEAST, together with local NGO partner the Rozana Association, will have developed and enhanced the leadership and community engagement skills of 90 youth, as well as promoted and spread a spirit of volunteerism throughout the communities impacted by the youth-led community initiatives. 

A certificate will be provided at the successful completion of the program.

Washington, DC/, Kuwait, UAE, Lebanon, Morocco —The American non-profit education organization AMIDEAST and Citi Foundation—Citi’s philanthropic arm—today announced the launch of the Arab Women’s Entrepreneurship Project (AWEP) in four countries:  Kuwait, Lebanon, Morocco, and the UAE.
