Our Work

English Language Programs

English language skills open doors of opportunity

Interest in learning English- the leading language of business communication across the region- is growing exponentially. Our programs assist students of all ages and backgrounds to acquire confidence in oral and written English.

We offer both general English language training and specialized instruction for professionals in specific areas. We design courses tailored to the specialized needs of individual organizations, businesses, and government agencies. In addition, AMIDEAST is involved in training English teachers and providing technical assistance to large and small businesses, educational institutions, government agencies, and nongovernmental organizations.

General English

The General English course focuses on accuracy and fluency with an integrated skills and strategy-based curriculum that aims at developing the four language skills—listening, speaking, reading, and writing. The course also focuses on improving pronunciation and increasing vocabulary. Participants are placed in one of the following stages based on their placement test results: beginner, elementary, pre-intermediate, intermediate, and pre-advanced. To ensure consistency of instruction, one series is used for each stage. Each book is covered in three consecutive levels. Certificates are awarded at the successful completion of each stage.

Conversation

AMIDEAST conversation courses are divided into four levels.  The training focuses on a variety of everyday essential topics to ultimately improve participant fluency, accuracy and ability to communicate. The conversation courses give the participants the extra practice they need to become fluent. The main idea of the conversation course at AMIDEAST is to focus on the students' ability to express themselves in everyday situations. Therefore, students work on pronunciation, vocabulary and idioms (in the advanced level) to further develop their conversational skills. They also receive individualized feedback on grammar and pronunciation errors. Class activities include: group discussions, role plays, pronunciation, and games.
