Kuwait (February 16, 2011) — In order to accommodate growing demand for its educational and training services in Kuwait, AMIDEAST has moved its office from Salmiya to a new facility located in the central business district of Sharq. 

Tunisia, January 4, 2011 — Prometric, the leading provider of testing and assessment services, today announced that it has teamed up with AMIDEAST to open a new Professional Testing Center in Tunisia that will offer academic and professional credentialing exams for the first time.

Abu Dhabi, December 13, 2010 — In order to better serve a diverse mix of individuals and institutions in the UAE, AMIDEAST has expanded its offices in Abu Dhabi. An official opening ceremony and ribbon-cutting, held today on the new premises, was attended by Dr. Tayeb Kamali, Vice Chancellor of the Higher Colleges of Technology and Chairman of CERT, and Dr. William A. Rugh, former U.S. ambassador to the UAE and former president and CEO of AMIDEAST, as well as top officials from a wide variety of industries including government, higher education, communication, banking, oil and gas, and human resources.

As part of the Annual U.S.-Islamic World Forum hosted by the Brookings Institution's Saban Center and the Government of Qatar, AMIDEAST will convene a three-day workshop in Washington, DC, in April 2011 on higher education reform in the Arab World.  The forum provides a unique opportunity for top education, government, and nonprofit leaders from the United States and the Islamic world to discuss critical issues of mutual concern and work on building agreement for further action in these areas.   The workshop will focus on the current state of higher education in the Middle East and North Africa. Considering a broad spectrum of public and private sector models currently present in the region, participants will seek to develop guidelines for moving forward with reform in core areas such as teacher and program quality, institutional capacity, resource allocation, accreditation, regulatory oversight, and labor market responsiveness.

Abu Dhabi, December 7, 2010 — America-Mideast Educational and Training Services, Inc. (AMIDEAST) has been named ETS Global’s Country Master Distributor (CMD) in the United Arab Emirates under a three-year agreement signed today in Abu Dhabi. The new agreement benefits UAE students, educators, businesses, and other institutions by expanding their access to world-recognized tests of English for both academic and professional purposes.

Washington, DC, November 4, 2010 —The U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs has awarded AMIDEAST a $225,000 grant that will enable it to support Egypt’s largest and most prestigious public university, Cairo University, as it seeks to strengthen its capacity to host U.S. study abroad students.
