About
the Advising
Quarterly

he
Advising Quarterly (AQ) was first published in
1987. Since then, it has served professionals
in international education worldwide as a key
reference source, forum for communication, and
link to updates on U.S. programs.
Each issue
of the AQ contains in-depth articles on areas
related to U.S. education or international
exchange. Also included are bibliographies and
reviews of the latest books, videos, software,
and on-line resources; testing and financial
aid information; short-term training listings;
academic news; and responses to challenging
research questions.
The AQ
receives partial support from a grant from the
Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of
the U.S. Department of State.
The AQ is
distributed to all the educational advising
centers that it assists—Fulbright
Commissions, U.S. Embassies, Binational
Centers, and others that together inform
hundreds of thousands of students each year
about U.S. education.
Subscriptions
and advertising provide additional funding.
Readers include international student
advisers, admissions staff, English language
program administrators, consultants, and
others involved with international exchange
both in the United States and abroad.
