West Bank Alumna Exemplifies Spirit of Volunteerism

Maha shares a book with children at a local school

West Bank alumna Maha Thaher '05 has been active in her school in creating and developing extracurricular activities to benefit both her school and community.

One of the experiences that I gained from my exchange year in the United States is the idea of school clubs. As I was a member of the French club in my U.S. high school I decided that I should have at least something similar at my home school in my country. Our special achievement is that now we have a permanent board near the school's main entrance, where we post news and articles about different subjects and current issues in Palestine and the whole world so that all the students at school can see and read it. We've noticed that the students actually are interested to read what's been posted, so we decided to do more.
