Ford Foundation International Fellowships
Program (IFP): Cairo
Introduction
The International Fellowships Program (IFP), which AMIDEAST administers in Egypt and Palestine, provided a selected number of exceptional students with the financial support necessary to pursue up to three years of graduate study at any college or university around the world. The program attracted students from diverse backgrounds and targeted individuals from communities that routinely lack access to higher education. IFP focuses on providing opportunities for marginalized applicants who have high academic standard, lengthily track in community work and leadership skills. IFP will empowers those applicants to become future leaders with skills and knowledge needed to improve social and economic conditions within their communities. In addition to providing financial assistance for travel, living expenses and tuition, IFP also offered preliminary pre-academic training including language instruction, workshops on research and Leadership skills as well as computer training.
The deadline for the last and final selection round for Egyptian applicants was in 2009.
