Israeli-Arab Scholarship Program (IASP)
Personal benefit from the program is threefold.
Firstly,
I had the chance to receive excellent professional
training in the area of my interest. Secondly, I had an
excellent opportunity to enhance my spoken and written English
.
Thirdly, I was given the opportunity to interact with students
and faculty from all around the world. My stay in the States
provided me with an exceptional opportunity to learn first-hand
about the American culture.Dr. Fadia Nasser,

The Israeli-Arab Scholarship
Program (IASP) was established by the Congress of the United
States in 1991 to provide educational opportunities in the
United States for Israeli Arabs. The program is sponsored
by the United States Department of State and administered
by AMIDEAST. Since 1991, over fifty students have received
grants for a maximum of two years of study at U.S. institutions
in a wide range of fields including family therapy, social
work, law, linguistics, and political science. Those interested
in continuing their studies at the Ph.D. level seek teaching
assistantships, research assistantships and other scholarships.
The United
States Embassy in Tel Aviv solicits applications, conducts
interviews, and selects candidates for the program. The
U.S. Embassy in Tel Aviv then provides assistance to IASP
nominees, grantees and alumni in Israel. In cooperation
with the U.S. Embassy in Tel Aviv and the U.S. Department
of State, AMIDEAST staff in Washington, DC places nominees
at U.S. universities, monitors their progress throughout
their grant period, and remains in contact with them as
alumni.
