Yemen Alumni enjoy a 4th of July BBQ at AMIDEAST
Yemen Alumni enjoy a 4th of July BBQ at AMIDEAST.

Sixty-six YES alumni gathered at AMIDEAST's offices in Sana'a to celebrate July 4th with a barbeque/picnic. The last three years of alumni plus the new YES cohort attended the event. Over hotdogs and hamburgers, students shared their experiences with the new students on living in the United States. "It was great to see my friends again and chat about our times in the US", noted Laila Mohammed 04'.

Several Yemeni students also attended a reception at the U.S. Embassy in Yemen hosted by the Ambassador. The Ambassador's reception was a time for students (both new studnets and alumni), their families, and the embassy staff to meet. Certificates of completion were given to the alumni who returned in June. Ala'a Al-Ibbi, Fahd Imam and Ibrahim Al-Saadi, all from the class of '06, spoke of their experiences and wished the new students well in the coming year. It was a relaxed, positive, and fun event for all.
