YES Alumni Receive Sister Cities International Global Youth Leadership Award

Qatar

Qatar's first alums, Ahmed Ibrahim and Fadi Yasin, both '06, were guest speakers at a pre-departure meeting for the new YES cohort held shortly after their arrival back to Qatar in June. Ahmed and Fadi were eager to share their experiences with the group, which included representatives from the US Embassy in Doha. The outgoing YES students were anxious to learn from the successes and challenges faced by Ahmed and Fadi and were pleased to have the opportunity to ask questions. Both alumni emphasized how quickly the time goes by and to make every day count. When asked how he felt about his return, Fadi said "I was sorry to say goodbye to my host family and American friends but excited about all that I had learned and could share at home."
